The Ugly Duckling
Mothrmöv will present Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale of "The Ugly Duckling", which shows the duckling struggling to find where she fits in. At the end of the story the duckling becomes a beautiful swan, learning who she truly is. Mothrmöv will put this story to music with harp, English horn and percussion instruments. Our mover will narrate as she moves with the music throughout the story creating excitement and engaging young minds. This story is set to a number of Scandinavian Folk Songs.
Sounds of the Ballet
The ensemble will give an educational and engaging overview of ballet through this unique program. Our mover will improvise over the music of well known ballets including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Firebird and Petrushka. Learning concepts such as theme will be apparent through repetition, visually and aurally. Our program will engage audiences with this unique pairing of genres, introducing the audience to the ballet Billboards composed of music by Minnesota's very own Prince.
